Calling all Pumpkin Carvers to attend a Party

Date - 4th Nov 12 - 2 pm or 7th Nov 10 - 4 (just drop in on the day)

Who is invited - all families with pumpkins

Venue is also suitable for private parties and the disabled and we can take bookings.

NO CHARGE IS BEING MADE FOR OUR PARTIES

What are we going to be doing at our party - you will be seeing how piggies can turn pumpkins into fun, and have a great time with them, and we will be learning about all sorts of exciting things whilst having fun - its a sensory day - I am so excited about the fantastic time we are going to have, and YOU WILL ALL GO HOME WITH A BALLOON.

Family Fun Day August 30th - MONDAY

It's all systems go here for John - he has put out the banners, and is tidying up the yard, so that we will be ready for the Open Day which is only 5 days away.

As usual there seems load to do to get ready for this big day, which is free of charge to get into, and many of the activities are free on the day.

This day is all about being able to get into the countryside, see the animals, pond dip, have a walk around the farm, and have a sit down whilst you go on a trailer ride.

Children love the wide open spaces, and we are hoping for a dry day.

The Market Drayton Scouts and Venture Scouts are coming to ensure we all have a great day, and they may be able to bring other scouts with archery - we are awaiting to hear if this is going to happen.

So far:-

• The ponies are coming early for the pony rides so that is great news
• We are picking up some marquees for ourselves over the weekend - hopefully the new marquee will also arrive
• We are expecting some local food stalls including cakes and plants
• The Guide Dogs will be coming - so you can learn all about how wonderful they are
• We are collecting the beef and pork ready for the Open Day later this week, so there will be fresh Park Hill beef, bacon, and pork on the day
• The Tractor and Trailer are booked ready to give rides
• The pond will be ready for some pond dipping
• Winston at the Market Drayton Advertiser is hoping to put some editorial into the paper this week - so that families can make the most of this day
• JOHN will be showing people the baby animals - make sure you get a tour with him
• Sheila is going to do the cake bake and take - a great favourite
• The Market Drayton Scouts are having a stall inside their marquee, and will be hosting the children's colouring tables
• AND LASTLY - TANYA THE PIG MAY BE HAVING HER BABIES ON MONDAY - so if she does, we will set up a viewing area so that people can see them

As you can see, we are busy but lots of people are offering to help make this a special, fun day for all to enjoy.

There will be hand washing facilities and toilet facilities on the day, and also parking for the disabled, so give us a call if you need further info.

LATEST NEWS ON PIGLETS

Gosh, we have been overwhelmed with people wanting to buy our lovely piglets. We have just 2 boars left, one of which could be registered at an extra cost of £10 on top of the £65 per piglet.

They are going all over the country, and its great to see they are going to good homes.

HALF LAMBS FOR SALE

Half lambs for sale - only £50 per half. Call us before Tuesday 3rd August to get them butchered to your requirements - shoulders and legs (boned or on the bone), and chops packed in (4's, etc).

POND DIPPING PARTIES AVAILABLE

Not sure how to satisfy the birthday girl/boy's need to have a different party - we can offer safe parties for children accompanied by parents. Lovely barn available for the party tea supplied by you, or a party barbecue supplied by us.

Nets and identification charts provided, together with experienced party leader.

QUARTER AND HALF PIGS FOR SALE

Stock up on your PORK - we can now offer lean and tasty outdoor reared, rare breed Oxford Sandy and Black pigs as:-

1/4 pigs and 1/2 pigs, butchered to your specification, Price £5.00/kg.

1/2 Pig contains - 2 shoulder joints, 2 legs of pork, belly pork (joint or strips), and about 14 chops. Weight is about 18 - 24 KG.

1/4 pig is just half of the above.

BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY FUN DAY - AUGUST 30TH

We have suddenly realised that our fun day is looming - 12 - 3pm on the 30th August. Put it in your diary - its free of charge to get in, and many of the activities are free of charge.

POND DIPPING 18TH AUGUST 2010

Just a quick reminder that on the 18th August, between 2 and 4 pm, we shall be offering free of charge pond dipping sessions. These will be professionally led by Shropshire Wildlife Trust.

Parents need to stay with their children, and also we should be doing some pond art!

LAMB FOR SALE

Just to say we have a very small number of half lambs for sale - suit families with freezer - call us to reserve as they are a good price at £50 per half lamb. We don't expect to have any more this year.

POND DIPPING

It's free of charge, and Shropshire Wildlife Trust will be leading the event between 2 and 4 pm.

NEWS OF "HEAVENLY" PIGGIES SOLD

We have sold nearly all our piggies, and its great news that 2 boars and 2 gilts have been registered from the "Heavenly" herd here at Park Hill.

We have only got 5 boars left - they have grown really well, and will provide hours of happiness for their new owners.

CLA GAME FAIR

We have just been to the CLA Game Fair and had a great time. It was the biggest show we have been to, and we had some great help. I'm waiting for photos. If you visited our stand, we hope you enjoyed meeting us.

Latest on Open Farm Sunday - 13th JUNE

We can't believe it - we got so much to do AND 26 BABY PIGLETS ARRIVED ALL IN ONE NIGHT.

They are just so cute - do come and see them.

Main attractions include

• Pond dipping with the experts from Natural England - it doesn't get better than that!


• Walk our lovely farm with our Countryside Stewardship Officer from Natural England

• Bake and take a Cake


• Buy some lovely bacon, sausage or beef steaks from the farm shop.

MOST OF ALL, COME AND SEE THE TWIN CALVES, BABY CHICKS, AND LOADS OF PIGGIES.

We will be taking orders for baby chicks and piggies - prices- £5 per chick (Can't say if they are cocks or hens at the moments) and £55 for the piggies to be collected week of the 16th July - lots of lovely piggies to choose from, but nearly all boys this time!
